Charles Grover Kerns

Charles Grover Kerns, 74, passed away December 31, 2020.

Born in Roanoke, WV, he was the son of John Paul and Doris Simons Kerns.

Charles served in the United States Army and retired from the oil and gas industry. He loved his family, friends, traveling the United States, and golfing. After moving to South Carolina in 2014, Charles was an active member of The Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Longs.

Survivors include his loving wife, Velinda Kay Foster Kerns; a son, Charles Kerns, III (Brittany); daughters Charleen Hamrick; and Veronica Heater (Steve); a sister, Ann Belmont; and grandchildren Sidney and Sawyer. Charles is predeceased by his parents; his brother John Kerns; a sister, Barbara Kerns; and grandson, Benjamin Hamrick.

Due to COVID-19, a private service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 10796 SC-905, Longs, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests offerings to be made to The Ebenezer United Methodist Church, PO Box 51, Longs, SC, 29568.
