

Colleen S. English went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025. Colleen was born in Washington, PA on July 20,1954, the daughter of the late James Francis Florian and Marcella Jean (McGary) Florian. Colleen was the middle child of five children, all daughters. She was married to William M. English., for 24 wonderful and loving years.
Colleen attended Immaculate Conception High School in Washington, PA and began her work life while in high school at Citizens Library. After graduation, she began an illustrious career in the U.S. Civil Service that spanned 27 years. Colleen worked as a Computer Security Specialist for the Department of Defense and various Army, Navy and Marine Corps installations in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Both before and after retirement Colleen volunteered her computer technical expertise at the churches she attended. She was known as a loyal person with integrity and strong work ethics.
Colleen’s passion was for Jesus, her family, her dog Angel, and for helping others. She was always willing to make the extra effort to help no matter where she was needed, and provided assistance to others in the aftermath of two major hurricanes. Colleen had bright sparkling eyes and a vibrant, infectious smile that brought joy to family, friends, and strangers alike.
Colleen is survived by her sisters: Diana Lynn Mortimer, Judith Ann Florian, and Wendy Sue Westerfield (Michael); her children: Tracy Jean Castle of Fort Worth, TX, Christopher Michael Scott (Samantha) of Stafford, VA, Amy Francis (Jamie) of Gladys, VA, Donna Zofcin of West Hickory, PA, Darlene Fulmer of South Haven, MS, and Steve English (Cindy) of South Haven, MS; and grandchildren: Richard Holderfield (Joy), Michael Bart, Junior Shaffer, Ben Johnson, Caitlin Bart, Remy Johnson, Mark Zofcin, Jr, Stephanie Bart, Alexis Scott, Paige Zofcin, Tony Scott, Mary Castle.
Colleen’s family and friends will be celebrating her life with a memorial service at North Strand Community Church on June 21, 2025 at 10 am, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. An additional Memorial service will be held at Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Stafford, VA on a later date. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
