

David F. Dwyer, 85, of North Myrtle Beach, SC (formerly of Northborough and Holland, MA) passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 4th, surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late John and Marie (Carey) Dwyer. His beloved wife, Elda M. (Carnevale) Dwyer passed away in 2017 after 49 years of marriage.
David is predeceased by his loving wife Elda, his brother John Dwyer and his wife Barbara, and his grandson Philip Dwyer. David is survived by his son: Stephen Dwyer and his wife Kathleen of Maryland; his daughters: Amy Smith and her husband Gregory of Massachusetts and Alison Carlisle and her husband James of South Carolina; grandchildren: Casey and his wife Lauren, Mackenzie and his wife Savanna, Kailey and her husband Jesse, Riley, Joseph and his wife Adaeze, Caitlin, Ashley and Jack; great grandchildren: Amelia, Braelynn, Iside, Teagan, and Uche; and his sister Deborah McGuinness and her husband, Robert of Massachusetts. Uncle Dave also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who he loved spending time with.
David was born on October 4, 1939 in Worcester, MA. David and his wife Elda raised their family in Northborough, MA, where they were deeply involved in the community. David worked for many years at Protection Mutual Insurance Company. Upon his early retirement, he drove a school bus for Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, MA, where Elda was a teacher. They then moved to Holland, MA, and David began driving athletic teams for Tantasqua Regional High School. He quickly became the favorite driver of all of the athletes and coaches and enjoyed every minute of cheering them on at their games and events. David spent his summers on his boat on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was happiest on the water and with his family. After the loss of his wife Elda, David moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC, which was always a favorite place of theirs. He found a home and good friends at the Bay Watch Resort.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 7th at The Sandtrap at the Bay Watch Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC from 3-5pm. A second Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 16th at the Mill 185 in West Boylston, MA from 1-4pm.
We want to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support, we appreciate hearing all of the great stories and memories. We find peace in knowing that David has been reunited with his eternal love, Elda.
