Elaine J. Hyder

Elaine was born May 15, 1926 in Huntington, Long Island, NY to parents Anna and Eugene Jatsko. She married Guss H. Hyder in 1945, and resided in Hendersonville, North Carolina where she worked as an administrative assistant to the general manager at General Electric for 32 years. After retirement she worked at the Alabama Theater for 15 years. She and Guss were married for 53 years before he passed in January 2000.

They had 2 children, the late Ron Hyder and Brian D. Hyder of Mouth of Wilson,VA. Always active, she loved the ocean, taking walks on the beach, spending time with her friends and family and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach.

Her parents, her brothers Eugene Jr, Daniel, Michael, Charles, and George, sisters Elizabeth Hyder, Lillian Streur, and Josephine Corcoran, preceded her in death.

In addition to her son Brian, three grandchildren mourn Elaine: Chris Hyder, Brad Hyder, and Stephanie Hyder Laseter, along with five great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Patti Hyder of Charleston, SC and her beloved canine Alfie.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, 200 Hwy 17 N, North Myrtle Beach.

The entombment will take place on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hendersonville, NC.

In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Elaine’s memory to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, 200 Hwy 17 N, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
