Francis “Frank” Eaton, 76, of Longs, South Carolina, and formerly Burlington, NC, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, June 4, 2022. At the time of his passing, Frank was surrounded by his family and his loving dog, Mia.
Born in Suffern, New York to the late Charles Lester Eaton and the late Anna Mae (Hopper) Eaton, Frank was the second youngest of four children. Frank and his older brother Bobby were preceded in death by their two sisters, Shirley and Barbara. Frank was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Adrienne Elizabeth Carrier.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Donna C. (Nero) Eaton; daughter and son-in-law, Krista Ann and Fred Hannah; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Charles and Mandy (Carrier) Eaton; and his grandson, Zachary David Hannah. Frank also leaves behind two nieces, Carleen (Eaton) Zamora and Gloria (Raad) Carlbert; two nephews, Robert Eaton and Thomas Raad; extended family and friends.
Frank was fiercely passionate about his family; loving them with his whole heart and soul and ALWAYS putting his children first. Frank showed love, compassion and acceptance to all he met; never meeting a stranger. All who knew him, loved him. He would rather go without for himself to ensure others had what they needed or wanted. Frank had a servant's heart and understood the idea of yield.
Frank was a history buff who enjoyed watching game shows, bowling, playing cards and board games (especially Monopoly), listening to good music, traveling with his family (especially his wife), reading, keeping up with current events, and making breakfast for his family. Besides his family, Frank’s other love was for cars; especially Corvettes. Frank’s dream was always to own a convertible Vette; however, in Frank fashion, he put his children first making sure they both graduated from college debt free before splurging on himself. What a blessing it was for his family to see his dream become a reality when he purchased the first of his two convertible Corvettes. He and his wife, Donna, were members of both the Corvette Club in Greensboro, NC, as well as the Myrtle Beach Corvette Club. Through both organizations, as well as his home church, Gibsonville United Methodist Church, Frank volunteered as often as he could to help others.
Frank’s love of cars was life-long. In his early years, he worked as a car salesman at Farrenkopf Chevrolet in Garfield, New Jersey. Following his career as a car salesman, Frank worked for Sandvik Inc. in Fair Lawn, New Jersey before being transferred within the company to their facility in Mebane, NC in 1986. As a result, he and his family moved to Burlington, NC in February of 1987. Frank later retired from GBF Medical Group in Greensboro, NC.
Frank Eaton was a strong, humble, kind, loving, and supportive husband, father and grandfather. His love, knowledge and guidance was, and will continue to be, the foundation of his family.
The family will receive visitors at Lowe Funeral Home, 2205 S. Church Street, Burlington, NC 27215 on Saturday June 11th, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
