Frederick Freeman DeGroot, 73, formerly of New Jersey, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 17, 1943 in Morristown, NJ, he was the son of the late Freeman and Helen Van Pelt DeGroot.
Mr. DeGroot was an avid stock car racer for over 10 years. He was known as “The Flying Dutchman”. He enjoyed his retirement, loved surf fishing off the Jersey Coast and keeping his yard neat and clean.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Vivian L. Beyer DeGroot; son, Jason F. DeGroot, his wife Mia and granddaughter, Evangeline.
