On April 3, 2022, Irene Lucy Benfield Crowe, 81, passed away in her home after a period of declining health and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born on December 8, 1940 to the late Isaac and Lily Benfield, Irene grew up in Rockwell, NC. She was a mother to three daughters and wife to late husband Horace who preceded her in death ten years earlier. She was employed by McDonald's before retiring after 22 years of service with the company.
Irene is survived by her sister Joyce Measmer of Davidson, NC, step-sister Joyce Faye Ritter of Kannapolis, NC, daughters Kim Oliver of Kannapolis, NC, Hope Dickinson (Bobby) of North Myrtle Beach, and Angela Tiffany (Bart) of Winston Salem, NC. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Heather Dickinson and Amber Wellmon (Justin), a grandson Bentley Tiffany, and a great-grandson, Slate Lee.
A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family of Mrs. Crowe at a later date in honor of her memory and to celebrate her life.
