Joseph Adam “Joey” Korpon, 43, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at home. Born on January 22, 1979, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of Joseph Anthony Korpon and Gail Popson Korpon Howard.
Joey was a 1997 graduate of Willoughby South High School in Willoughby, OH and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University. In 2018, Joey relocated to North Myrtle Beach and had been working as a server at Chestnut Hill for almost 2 years. He had a love of golfing and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Surviving are his parents, Joseph Anthony Korpon (wife, Nadine), Gail Howard (husband, Scott); brothers, Jason Korpon(wife, Tess), Jonathan Korpon; sister, Chelsea Litman; and nephew Hudson Korpon. Also surviving Joey is his girlfriend of three years, Jessica Tyree, her children, Preston Tyree and Nickie Vingino; and several aunts; uncles; and cousins. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lucille Korpon and his maternal grandparents, Mary and Michael Popson.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the funeral home.
