

June Rowell Shirley, age 66, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Born in Loris, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Eldridge and Willie Lucille Holmes Rowell.
June is survived by her children, Brian Shirley (Taylor), Shannon Shirley, and Emmy Hardee (Bradley); her cherished grandchildren, Camden Shirley, Annabeth Hardee, Hudson Shirley, and Graham Hardee; her brothers, Gary Rowell and Eddie Rowell (Connie); nephew, Justin Rowell; niece, Krissy Pearce; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents and by Danny Shirley.
June adored her family, and her role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. She shared a special bond with her oldest grandchild, Camden, and the two spent many happy days playing baseball in the backyard. June’s love language was baking. She was best known for her beautiful birthday and wedding cakes, made with love for her family. She proudly made Brian and Emmy’s wedding cakes, as well as her own.
For 20 years, June served the City of North Myrtle Beach in public safety as a dispatcher. Her dedication and strength made her a steady and trusted voice in moments of need. She retired with respect and admiration from her colleagues and community.
Independent throughout her life, June was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her presence was steady, reliable, and full of love. She was a member of Camp Swamp Church in Loris, where she found fellowship and spiritual comfort.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. June’s funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will immediately follow at Camp Swamp Church Cemetery in Loris.
