Lawrence A. Utter

Lawrence A. Utter of Longs, SC passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023 from complications of Dementia and Diabetes.

Larry was born in Oneonta, NY on June 13, 1939, the son of Janet and George Utter.

He graduated from Unatego Central School before entering the United States Marine Corps. After his military service he worked at and was Vice President at Utter Trucking Company Inc.

Larry always greeted you with a smile and a handshake. His happiness was felt by all. Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, horses, trap and skeet shooting. He shared this love with his son and best friend Jeff.

Larry is predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert Sr and his sister Katherine Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Gemmel), his son Jeff and his wife Cindy of Loris, SC. He is also survived by his grandsons Tony Beers, Sparton, TN, Jay Brannick, Auburn, NY, and Kyle Brannick, Gilbertsville, NY. Larry has 3 great grand daughters Hailey Brannick, Nora and Rylee Beers. His brother Ronald (Ann), sisters Doris (Steve) Hadley, Cheryl (Mike) Lawyer and their families.

Larry’s ashes with be brought back to his beloved Skaneateles Lake, NY. This is where he spent his summers until his health declined.

Larry’s memorial service will be held at the Lee Funeral Home, Little River, SC on July 10, 2023 at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Carol, Jeff and Cindy want to thank the following - Anderson Oaks, Agape Hospice and South Carolina House Calls. They all provided loving care, compassion and support through this difficult time.
