Aunt Marilyn was a quiet but unifying force in our family.  She is greatly missed. 

My Mom was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church many years singing in the choir serving the Lord. She was very faithful being in involved that way at church. Then when we moved to Longs, S.C. she became a member of the King of Glory Lutheran Church in North Myrtle Beach singing for their choir as well. Volunteered with the Red Cross in Connecticut who went to give blood and working as Nanny when she was not busy at home making always delicious dinners for me and my family every night. My Dad would play German music in our house and my mom liked that kind of music. I will always remember seeing her marching in the color guard with the Connecticut Rebels Fife and Drum Corps. And spending time with her at the Deep River Fife and Drum Muster in Deep River Ct. Our family went on long trips with her when took a vacation to Germany and Switzerland to a Swiss Fife and drum Muster. And visiting my aunt and cousins in Fleetwood Pennsylvania. She will be missed a lot, but I know she went to be with Jesus and is at peace with him now in heaven. This is how  I will remember my mom forever now. 

Dear Peter, Wendy, Gary and Erik,
Marilyn, your dedicated wife, your loving mom, has been called HOME by GOD where she will now be FREED from all physical pain and suffering and instead has been joyfully reunited with her loved ones who went HOME before her.  We want to express our deepest condolences to you and trust that your deep faith will bring you solace, peace and comfort  during this very difficult time.
Marilyn will always have a special place in my heart! I admired her for having the patience of an angel and having a very positive attitude in spite of the many challenges she was facing.  We, and esp. family in Germany, were always so touched by her effort to write the many cards in German which is no small feat.  Nurturing her friendships and staying in touch with everyone was a high priority for her. She once shared with me that she had wanted a blonde husband who played the accordion, and voila, she found the perfect mate in Peter, right? He could not have had a better, more loving, understanding and dedicated wife than Marilyn on his side! Besides her gardening and many flowers she loved the many celebrations, parties, picnics and trips which were always highlighted with Peter entertaining us with his music and telling his many funny stories which she could heartily laugh about,  no matter how many times she had heard them already.  
We will surely miss her sweet, loving and caring presence but also have comfort in the belief that all of us will be reunited one of these days.

I was so sorry to hear that Aunt Marilyn had passed but trust that she is now Home... 

I just remember her as a gentle and kind woman with a very strong spirit. As a child I could always count on her to make my favorite graham cracker crust cheesecake on my birthdays (and always overeating, but never feeling sick). It seemed like she was a very good balance to Peter, and yet she always seemed to be up for a good adventure (usually involving an oversized RV venturing where it had no business going!)

My Mother was a great person who was always happy and she always gave us love and support when ever we needed it.  Here are some of my favorite memories about my Mom.  1. My Mom was always happy when she was working in the garden, and she would clean up her Garden Gnomes and paint them when ever they needed color.  2. She always made the best meatballs for dinner,  and meat loaf, Apple fritters and pot roast.  3.  We always watched football together especially the Patriots, The Amazing Race, basketball and we always watched Blue Blood s with Tom Selleck on Friday night and all other sports. We will always miss my Mom but I know she will always be in are hearts forever.

So sorry to have heard of Marilyn's passing. We were so fortunate to have had you folks as our next door neighbors up until your move to SC. Was glad to have been able to chat with her briefly over the winter. Our entire family send their deep sympathy. We hope that her love and your happy memories comfort you all during this difficult time. To this day, we still have a small patch of yellow butter cup like perennial plants, that came from your backyard, and we transplanted in to our backyard. Every summer, we think of her when they bloom.

Dear Peter, Wendy, Erik and Gary, 
I am so sorry - I know Marilyn is gardening right now in heaven or maybe making a tuna fish sandwich.   Marilyn was SO special - always caring and giving to others.   She took care of our four children Sara, Paul Peter, Ross and Ryan  for sixteen years!   Never a broken anything or illness - she loved them and they loved her !  
I learned a lot from Marilyn a few memories are how to make tuna fish (celery is key) and not to throw any food down the sink (must be Peter's influence).  
Marilyn and Peter were always celebrating every birthday with Peter on accordion and Marilyn clapping .   Then there were the times you took the kids in the camper and boating on the lake or over to your house to play.   One day Marilyn said her daughter wanted a new job - Wendy came to work with us and 15 years later was like a daughter .   Thanks to Erik and Gary for putting up with kids playing in the backyard fort at your house. 
I loved Marilyn's letters (she was an excellent writer) and definitely she loved her crossword puzzles. 
We will all miss Marilyn and missing you too,

I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of Marilyn. May the wonderful memories you share help you all through this very difficult time.

Aunt Marilyn was a loving person.  It was obvious that she cared about you, when you saw her or spoke to her.   She was also very kind and didn't have a mean bone in her body.  

We attended a number of picnic parties at the Weiss house in Bethel, CT.  These were events to bring the family together (both physically and emotionally) and they certainly did not let down.  Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Peter made a very good, complementary pair as hosts.  While Peter entertained by giving the kids wagon rides behind the lawn tractor or playing the accordion,  Aunt Marilyn was in the kitchen preparing food or making guests feel comfortable with conversation.  It was always a warm and inviting atmosphere and she wanted you to enjoy yourself.  That's just how she wanted you to feel.

Her gift in life was to care for and to wait on other people.  She enjoyed her role as the quiet support figure in the background.  And she loved children, particularly her own.  God has warm gifts in store for her.  We pray she is at peace.  Lastly, our hearts go out to the Weiss family in this time of sorrow.  Please know that we are thinking of you and are here for you. Aunt Marilyn was a lovely woman. She was a loving, caring and happy person. She spent most of her life taking care of others. We were always amazed at how she could smile no matter what life threw her way. She will be dearly missed.

Dear Peter, Wendy, Gary & Erik,

I am very sorry for your loss.  I think back on our times  with Marilyn often, as we had some really fun times with her around. I will miss her a lot. I will just list some of the memories that I have held on to & that have brought me joy when I have reminisced over my childhood. (Marilyn was my family's nanny for about 16 years.)

1. I remember often asking her if we could go to her house in CT, because it was always more interesting than our own home... I liked playing with the cat (Midnight), eating Wendy's Honey Smacks cereal, & playing the videogame "Crash Bandicoot". I always felt like Marilyn was sharing a secret with us, allowing us to play that videogame and eat Wendy's cereal- because I was never sure if her kids knew we did those things. So I thought she was a pretty cool person to let us. I also remember having some good conversations with Marilyn in the kitchen, & watching her make us tuna fish sandwiches...and since that was one of the only foods I was ever taught how to make in childhood, I still continue to make it often and I think of Marilyn.
2. I remember when Peter, you and Marilyn would take us around in your camper around Christmas time, so that we could see the Christmas lights at different houses, and we would play the "Alvin & the Chipmunks" Christmas song on repeat. I also always loved watching the old "Wooden Soldier" movie at Christmas time at her house. Those times made Christmas special.
3. When I was too young to drive anywhere, but old enough to go out to friend's house, Marilyn would drive me & we would always listen to the "Oldies." I don't think I really liked it at first, but I grew to love that station after hearing it in her car so many times. 
4. The one memory I will never forget is how often she would say "you're being fresh!" if I was ever stepping out of line. It didn't happen too often, but I would know she meant business when she pulled out that line. Thank you Marilyn... for everything



So sorry for the loss of Marilyn. She was always smiling and helpful to everyone. 
My prayers go out to her family- Pater, Wendy, Eric and Gary.
