Maureen T Ganley

On May 18, 1957, Maureen married Donald T. Ganley. Together they had five children: Loretta, Maureen, Joseph, Donald, and Catherine. In October 1967, they moved to Stony Brook, LI, where they enjoyed many fun summers at the Pool Club (or Stony Brook Swim & Racket Club). All five of their children earned college degrees, which Maureen was most proud of.

Maureen and Donald retired to Palm City, Florida, in 1988 where they had many years playing golf and tennis and would return north often to visit with family. She was an avid tennis fan and even got the chance to go to Wimbledon. Maureen enjoyed playing all kinds of card games, golfing and playing tennis with her children and grandchildren.

She was a fun grandmother who always had time for Kathleen, Matthew, Meaghan, Brendan, Danny, Christine, Brian, Michael, Melissa, Kevin, Lauren, Connor, and Jimmy! Maureen instilled the love of playing cards, Irish music, and travel to her family.

Her beloved husband passed away on February 17, 2009. In 2016, Maureen moved to Barefoot Resort with her daughter and son in law. Maureen and Jerry O’Callaghan. She enjoyed almost ten years there once again playing cards with her many new friends.

Maureen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.

A visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home, located at 11840 Highway 90, Little River, South Carolina, 29566, on January 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, situated at 1100 8th Ave N, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 29582, on January 12, 2026, at 11:00 am.
