Michael George “Mike” Marsolais, 69, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020. Born in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late George and Dawn Chase Marsolais. Mike was the husband of Helen O’Brien Marsolais.
He was a graduate of Canisius College, Buffalo, New York, where he made the basketball team as a walk-on. Upon graduation, he entered the workforce with Nichols Business Equipment, Latham, NY. He then went to 3M Company, earning top performance awards and winning trips for many years. Mike loved to travel. He successfully moved throughout the company eventually retiring after 32 years. Mike then worked for Volkert for five years as marketing lead for MD and PA. His constant work ethic and competitiveness was second to none.
Mike developed a love for golf and enjoyed playing many courses, over the years, with good friends. Mike and his family moved from the Albany, NY area to Frederick, MD and most recently reside in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Mike was a loving husband, father and brother. Through his last years and bouts with cancer and multiple procedures he was a fighter, staying strong and always sliding a joke in where possible. Those that knew Mike best know he was always good for a joke. He had an infectious laugh and was the type of person that lit up a room and people loved to be around. Mike is sorely missed. Mike, in essence, was a “home run”, who enjoyed life completely.
In addition to his wife, Helen, Mike is survived by his son, Matthew Marsolais (wife, Meghan) and his daughter, Laura Marsolais. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Nowak (husband, Don). He was preceded in death by sister, Hope.
Services will be private with the family.
