
Nancy Scurry Burris, 73, of Little River, died Sunday, November 26, at home after an illness. She was the widow of Charles Lee Burris and mother of Janet (Randy) Walters of Calabash, NC, and JoAnne Burris of Charleston, SC.
Born July 28, 1944, Nancy was a native of Olanta and a graduate of Olanta High School. She was the daughter of the late Kathryn Warlick and Eddie David Scurry. In addition to her children, she is survived by a granddaughter Meredith A. Walters, a grandson Charles D. “Charlie” Walters, a great-granddaughter Katarina M. Walters, a sister Margaret “Margie” (J.C.) McKenzie of Olanta, and two brothers, David (Tamara) Scurry of Horatio, and Ernest (Shirley) Scurry of Turbeville.
She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church and the choir. She was formerly employed by Pipeline Supply and Factory Outlet Stores.
The family will receive guests during a visitation at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, at Buck Creek Baptist Church, 11483 Highway 905 N, Longs, SC 29568.
The service, directed by Lee Funeral Home of Little River, will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with interment at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made in Nancy’s memory to Buck Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
