Nick was born and raised in Brighton, MA to the late William and Jennie Tourles. His life was marked by compassion, strength and humor.
After college, Nick joined the US Marine Corps of which he was very proud. He served 10 years as Gunnery Sargent. He had many marine friends who he often met over the years for coffee and laughter. Nick also volunteered in special military events and attended many Marine Reunions.
Nick had a passion for boating and fishing with his best friend and son Alex. If not on the ocean, the two would be found in the yard planting flowers and bushes, as Nick always had a green thumb. Nick was also an extraordinary cook, especially of greek food which everyone often enjoyed.
Nick enjoyed visiting Castine, Maine to visit his son Bill but his favorite moments were when his kids would visit him in Carolina Shores.
Nick was known to befriend anyone he met and would be the first to help friends and family with a home project, always with humor. He had an infectious smile sure to be remembered and a very quick wit.
