Norma Marie Files

Norma M. Files, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Legacy of North Myrtle Beach while surrounded by her family. Born on February 18, 1929, in Buffalo, NY, Norma was a daughter of the late Cyrus and Cora Anthony. She was the loving and devoted wife of 60 years to the late Richard F. Files.

Norma retired from Erie County Home and Infirmary where she worked as a dietician. Following retirement, she and Richard moved to Florida. In 2004, Norma moved to Myrtle Beach and volunteered at Seacoast Hospital for 13 years.

Surviving are her three children, Richard Files (Kaye), Nancy Files, Susan Weedmark (William); three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces; and nephews.

While living at the Legacy of North Myrtle Beach for the past three years, she made quite an impact on the residents and staff. She will be remembered for her clever one-liners and her quick wit.

The family extends a sincere thank you to her nurse, Jennifer with Amedisys Hospice for her kindness shown to Norma throughout this time.
