Patricia Ann Avey

Patricia Ann Avey, age 84, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025. Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Richard Cooper and Louise Edna Akowski.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gilford Avey; her sons David Lafferty, Thomas Lafferty, and Kenneth Lafferty; her daughter Theresa Mittan; eight cherished grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert and Donald Cooper.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who worked hard throughout her life. She spent 20 years with Montgomery Ward in Manassas, Virginia, and later worked 10 years at Walmart in Manassas. She loved her family deeply and treasured time with her children and grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed the beach, her beloved dog Blackie, and the company of her dear friend Joyce. She was a member of Manassas Methodist Church before relocating to South Carolina.

Her warmth, kindness, and love for family and friends will be remembered always.

A visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
