Patricia Cole

Patricia (Teator) Cole, age 94, died peacefully in her sleep February 15, 2022 in the presence of her family.

The daughter of Edward and Dorothy (nee Carr) Teator, Pat was born in Red Hook, New York, on August 14, 1927. She graduated from Red Hook High School and attended the United Methodist Church.

In 1949 she married Charles G. Cole (predeceased 1995) also of Red Hook and moved to Syracuse, New York where they raised their family, living on Ackerman Ave and Valley Drive before moving to Makyes Road in Onondaga Hill and Rutledge Ave in Westvale. Pat was a regular attendee of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and Roberts Memorial (New Life) churches; she also worked for several years in the volunteer office at Van Duyn Home and Hospital.

A dedicated wife and mother, Pat enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking and camping. She particularly enjoyed camping trips with her family to the Adirondacks and the coast of Maine. Pat often spent holidays and summers visiting relatives in Red Hook and Vermont, and enjoyed the camaraderie of her cousins and other family members. After her husband’s death in 1995, she moved to Westvale, NY and continued to be the dedicated companion and caretaker of their Down syndrome son, Jeff (predeceased 2007). In 2012, she and son Mike moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy a coastal climate and lower taxes.

Pat is survived by her sons, Michael and Gregory; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Brian, Ian and Elizabeth; and one great grandchild, Alex. A private service will be held by the family.
