Richard R. Garrenton

Richard R. Garrenton, 78, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 following a difficult battle with his health. Born in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late William and Mary Lee Rogers Garrenton.

Affectionately known as Dicky, he was an avid Harley Davidson rider and was a member of the Old Coots Motorcycle Club as well as the Black Sheep Club. He loved to Shag dance with his friends in the OD Shag club. Dicky was a skilled carpenter and Master Cabinet Maker. He was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church. Dicky was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Lou Garrenton; sister, Josephine Garrenton Spyrison (Richard); son, Kelly Garrenton (Debbie); daughter, Jennifer Garrenton (Mike); granddaughters, Heather, Jessica, Sara, Ellie; and grandson, Zack. He is also survived by stepchildren, Tony Goodwin, Gretchen Fahn, Tina Goodwin, Cris Caruso, Steve Goodwin, Mary-Stuart Torbeck; step grandchildren, Carley, Alex, Jason, Connor, Emily, Nicole; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Dicky in death are a brother, Johnny Garrenton; son, Richard Garrenton; and stepdaughter, Karen Traylor.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
