Ricky Nelson, 64, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, in McLeod Seacoast Medical Center. Born on August 21, 1960, in Florala, Alabama, Ricky was a son of the late Charles and Shirley Rayburn Nelson. He was the husband of Deborah Irwin Nelson.
A professional plumber, Ricky spent many years traveling for work until 2000, when he and Deborah moved to Little River from Alabama, and they were married in 2010. He continued his plumbing career in Little River, where he also enjoyed fishing and playing pool. Most of his friends considered Ricky a “flounder fisherman” and a pool shark.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his four sons, Charles, David, Ricky and Josh; his brother, Udon Nelson; and his sister, Sheala Andrews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 22840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566. He will be buried in Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Laurel Springs, FL at a later date.
