Ricky Dean Rogers, 68, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., peacefully passed on August 27, 2025, surrounded by love. He was born on June 11, 1957, in Monroe, N.C., to the late Emsley McClaine and Java Horne Rogers. Rick was the founder and owner of Rogers Refrigeration Services. Both coworkers and family admired his dedication to work and his fierce desire to provide for his family.
Approaching retirement, Rick moved to the beach to learn how to enjoy life more and work less, but his steadfast work ethic and skillset quickly made him a neighborhood go-to for repairs. His good-natured and jovial personality earned him friends wherever he went. Rick loved everything about beach life. His hobbies included golfing, golf cart rides to the beach, relaxing in the sand, early morning boat fishing trips in the canal, and Happy Hour with friends.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Mayhew Rogers of Monroe, N.C.; stepdaughter, Amy Duke (Aaron), and granddaughters Lauren and Kaylee of Marshville, N.C.; and siblings Linda McBride (Clinton) of Monroe, N.C. and Steven Rogers (MarySue) of Indian Trail, N.C. Rick was loved and cherished by several nieces and nephews, the Mayhew family, and countless adoring friends and neighbors. He will be deeply missed.
Private celebrations of Rick’s life will take place at a later date. Please consider donating in Rick’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River is serving the family.
