Robert A. Bosco Sr., 68, of Little River, formerly of Bay City, MI, passed away after a sudden illness on November 10th, 2020, with his wife Linda and daughter Jennifer by his side.
Robert was the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Boyce) Bosco. He spent most of his life as a partner of Bay Transportation Inc. Prior to that, he worked in the family’s businesses.
Our dad DID LIFE LARGE. Although he wasn’t an avid fisherman, the first story he would tell you about is the greatest catch of his life – his loving wife Linda Lou. They enjoyed traveling anywhere and everywhere-whether it was sun kissed on an island in the Caribbean, a spur of the moment weekend trips, or pulling the camper to every state park in Michigan when the kids were young. He loved hosting and being surrounded by all of his friends. He loved to continuously “try” to play golf with friends or alongside his wife. It didn’t matter what the sport, i.e., trying to hit the driver straight, land a bag on the cornhole board, rooting for the Wolverines, or cursing about those “Same Old Lions”. They all left him heartbroken, as we are today.
He enjoyed visiting as many casinos as possible, always trying to hit the big one. But his greatest accomplishment and pleasure in life was watching his kids and grandkids grow up around him. He was a very proud father and loved his two boys, but couldn’t wait to retire to South Carolina to spend more time with his favorite, the daughter and her husband Derrick. Although he was sharp and stubborn, nothing smoothed his edges like the time and laughter that he got with his grandkids. Even if it was the constant, “Papa I want, Papa I need, PAPA, PAPA, PAPA”.
Left to carry on his legacy is his beautiful wife of 48 years, Linda; three children Robert Bosco, Jr. (Michelle); Jennifer Crawford (Derrick); and Nicholas Bosco (Andrea); grandchildren Madison, Johnny, Sheridan, Gavin, Austin, Mariana and Giuliana; mother-in-law Betty Houghtaling; brothers, Richard Bosco (Chris); and David Bosco(Cathy); several nieces, nephews and extended family. Robert is predeceased by in-laws George and Eunice Silverthorn; Jack Houghtaling; and two of his dearest friends, Robert Soenen and Roger Englund.
As per his and his family’s wishes, he was cremated and there will be no services at this time. There will be a gathering of friends and family at a later time TBD in Bay City, Michigan where we will celebrate his LARGE LIFE.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the “Wishes of the Family” in care of Linda Bosco.
