Ron was born on September 12, 1934 in Akron, OH. He was a US Army Veteran serving 2 years in France. He met the love of his life, Nancy, with a promise to teach her to play tennis if she would teach him to dance. Ron graduated with honors from The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s in accounting, later earning his CPA certificate. He worked as the Assistant Comptroller of BF Goodrich for 25+ years. He and Nancy spent their retirement in Okatie, SC playing bridge, achieving their Bronze Life Master. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, honesty and integrity. He was a wonderful, loving family man who will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Juanita, and sister Mildred. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy (Melnik) of Okatie SC; daughter Julie (James) of Bluffton SC; son Jonathan (Melissa) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and grandsons Camden & Graham, also of North Myrtle Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry ([email protected]) in memory of Ron.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the local Fire Department “Lift and Assist” program for all their help.
To this day, Ron never learned to dance and Nancy never learned to play tennis, but, they were one heck of a bridge team.
