S. Bruce Wunner 83 of Little River, South Carolina passed away on December 7, 2025. Mr. Wunner was a highly respected global executive whose vision and leadership shaped the international expansion of McDonald's Corporation for more than 33 years. Rising to the role of Senior Vice President and CEO of Latin America, he played a pivotal role in guiding the company’s growth throughout Mexico, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Puerto Rico.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wunner distinguished himself by navigating some of the world’s most challenging economic environments. He successfully negotiated in fragile Latin American markets marked by weak macroeconomic conditions, hyperinflation, and political instability. Following his remarkable tenure with McDonald’s, Mr. Wunner served as the managing partner of Treasure Coast Capital Partners, a boutique investment banking firm specializing in mid-market mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising. His work spanned real estate development, retail food, distribution, recreation, leisure, and the entertainment industries, where he continued to earn admiration for his insight, professionalism, and integrity.
In addition to his business achievements, Mr. Wunner was deeply committed to community service. He was instrumental in the development of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida and Raleigh, NC, helping create vital support systems for families in need. It is impossible to explain the profound impact he had on others through his charities and philanthropic efforts.
Mr. Wunner was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael B. Wunner.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dr. Valerie Bryan-Wunner; his children Michelle, Colleen, Casey, Kit, Shannon, and Brandon; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
