

Thomas B. Perrone, Sr., 93, of Raleigh, NC, died December 26, 2020, after developing complications from a fall.
Tom was born October 1, 1927, to Jessie (Meleski) Perrone at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He left MD at age 17 in June 1945, to join the US Marine Corps during World War II. He ended up loving the Corps and decided to make it a 25-year career. He met his wife, Mary (McAllister) at Fort McHenry, MD as he returned from the Korean War in 1952. Tom and Mary married July 3, 1955, in Philadelphia, PA.
Tom was very active in Veterans organizations for many years and was a life member in both the Marine Corps League and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was active in both until recently when his health no longer allowed him to be.
He is survived by his wife of 65 ½ years, Mary; son, Thomas B. Jr. (Betty) of Waxhaw, NC; daughters, Theresa of Louisburg, NC; Tammy of Matthews, NC; Trisha (Billy) Sanders of Raleigh/Longs, SC;, and Tracey (Will) Hawkins of Clayton, NC. Tom was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, Tommy’s five; Thomas B. III (Katie); Patrick (Loraine); Michael; Courtney (Will) DeFrancis; and Ryan; Teri’s two girls, Nikkol (Joby) Rodriguez; and Catherine Osterman; Tammy’s daughter, Candace Griffin; and Tracey’s two sons, Hunter and Tristan Hawkins. Tom also had two great grandsons, Joshua Rodriguez and Braden Perrone. He is also survived by his younger brother, Joseph J Perrone of Kingsville, MD and a much-loved niece and nephew.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Our Lady Star of the Sea of North Myrtle Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Tom’s name to the Veteran’s charity of your choice. A memorial will also be held at the James B. Crump VFW 2423 in Indian Trail, NC, on January 30, 2021, at 2:00pm.
