Walter Henry Lynch Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Longs, South Carolina, on December 17, 2025. He was born on May 12, 1942, in Grafton, West Virginia, to the late Walter Henry Lynch Sr. and Catherine Spino.
In his late teens, Walter moved from West Virginia to Maryland, where he built a successful career as a hairdresser, working in a salon in Sutton Place in Baltimore City. He later became a mobile beauty service professional, bringing his talent and warm personality directly into the homes of his cherished clients.
In 1992, Walter met Kathy Fusee, beginning a 32-year partnership filled with companionship and adventure. After retiring in 2014, the two relocated to Longs, South Carolina, and traveled across the United States twice, creating countless memories along the way. Walter had a passion for motorcycling, and he and Kathy enjoyed many memorable rides and road trips together, sharing their love of the open road. He also enjoyed putting the top down on his convertible and taking leisurely drives on a nice day.
Walter found joy in listening to live music, especially the sounds of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, and he loved to dance. He also found peace in yard work and landscaping, sailing his boat, and spending time in parks.
Family meant everything to Walter. He shared a special bond with his daughter, Tracy, and granddaughter, Margo, spending time thrifting, camping, rafting, and grabbing a bite to eat at some local diners. He always cared deeply for his family and made sure they had everything they needed. His grandson, Noah, came later in life, along with his two great-grandchildren, Mya and Conner Davis, all of whom he loved spending time with as well.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Tracy R. Lynch; his grandchildren, Margo Lynch and Noah Lynch; his great-grandchildren, Mya and Conner Davis; and his life partner, Kathy Fusee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
