William “Bill” Frederick Revell, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 27th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of the importance of love and dedication to family and friends and instilled work ethic in those who knew him.
Born on March 24, 1959, in Heidelberg, Germany, Bill’s life began as the son of a U.S. Army serviceman. Bill experienced a childhood rich in adventure, moving from Montana to Indiana and Tennessee before settling in Springfield, Virginia, during his adolescent years. It was at West Springfield High School where Bill met Troi Moss, the love of his life, and began their remarkable journey together.
A gifted athlete, Bill excelled in varsity basketball, football and running, earning a football scholarship to the University of Virginia. While there, he majored in Rhetoric & Communications, laying the foundation for his successful career in the cable industry. As an executive with prominent cable companies, Bill’s leadership and innovation left a lasting impact on his colleagues and industry.
Bill and Troi built their life together in Haymarket, Virginia, where he enjoyed playing golf at the Evergreen Country Club and raised their beloved son and his namesake, William ”Bo” Robert Revell. A dedicated father, Bill found joy in cheering on Bo at Battlefield High School, where he excelled in basketball and football. His pride only grew as he watched Bo play and coach football as the Defensive Coordinator at the College of William and Mary.
In retirement, Bill and Troi moved to his cherished family home to Surfside Beach, South Carolina, and North Myrtle Beach. There, he enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and doting on his granddaughter, Stella, the light of his life.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Hubert and Norma Anne Revell. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Troi Moss Revell; his son, William “Bo” Robert Revell, and his wife, Victoria; his adored granddaughter, Stella, and soon-to-arrive grandson; and his sister, Susan Revell, in-laws Bob and Betty Moss, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers, an organization close to William’s heart.
A celebration of Bill’s remarkable life will be held in the spring. His family invites all who knew him to join in remembering and honoring a life well-lived.
