Alex Katchikian

Alex Katchikian age 81, of Bayside, Queens, NY, passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2020. A visitation will be held at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church 200 W. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ 07039, on Saturday December 12, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 11 AM, with a service at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery E. Hanover, NJ. Alex was a Real Estate Salesperson with Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Bayside Queens, NY. Alex is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Lida Nissan Katchikian (Lily), was a devoted father of Lila (Vahe) Baboomian, loving grandfather of Jasmine and Darius, and youngest brother of Virginia Hacopian, Henry Katchikian and the late Aram Katchikian, Simon Katchikian, Yvette Keshishian and Tamar. Anyone who knew him, could vouch for his fun and loving nature. He was a true family man and friend, with a young, energetic spirit and a passion for life. His interests and talents included playing guitar, performing magic tricks, playing backgammon (and winning many tournaments), dancing, spending time with family, friends and colleagues. He was a skilled martial artist in his younger years, a creative jewelry designer for 30 years, an avid reader with a strong determination to learn about anything that sparked his curiosity. He would “study”, so that he would be an expert in his field, better serve others and ensure their trust and ultimately, their friendships. An exceptional human being, he was loved by just about anyone who came into contact with him. We will always remember his readiness for anything fun, contagious laughter and loving words of wisdom. We miss him dearly and always will. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church.
