Amedeo Chirichiello, 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Cedar Knoll, NJ, with his loving family by his side. Born in Vallata, Italy, Amedeo came to the U.S. 52 years ago. He worked for the past 18 years as the Student Assistance Counselor for the West Orange Board of Education. Amedeo had a passion for helping others and loved helping our youth with their social and emotional needs. Amedeo enjoyed working out at the gym, enjoying time with his family, taking care of his yard, and building projects with his sons. Amedeo always had a strong faith in God and has instilled that in his children.
Amedeo was predeceased by his father, Michele and his brother Antonio. He is survived by his beloved mother, Pasqualina, his loving wife, Florence, and his cherished children Pasqualina, Michael, and Giovanni. He also leaves behind his siblings Gaetano, Maria, and Angelo, as well as nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9 from 4-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 10 at 10 AM at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, NJ. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Amedeo’s name may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering.
