

Born on September 23, 1952, in Newark, NJ, Brian was the beloved son of Edward and Mary (Kilkenny) Rabbitt. He was raised with strong family values that guided him throughout his life.
Brian pursued his education with dedication, earning his Associate’s Degree from Morris County College and later obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from William Paterson University. His commitment to service began early when he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, Brian continued his dedication to public service as a Detective Lieutenant with the Livingston Police Department. He served his community with courage, fairness, and compassion, earning the respect of colleagues and residents alike.
Brian will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and deep sense of duty to both his family and his community. His legacy of service and integrity will live on in the many lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Brian is predeceased by his brother, Thomas Rabbitt; his sister, Karen Rabbitt; his brother-in-law, Daniel Bertin; and his brother-in-law, William Murphy.
Brian is survived by his wife, Patricia Rabbitt; his 4 children: daughter, Shannon (Stephen) Clutterbuck, son Daniel (Sara) Rabbitt, son Christopher (Lauren) Rabbitt, and daughter Maureen (Amanda) Green-Rabbitt. Brian is survived by his 7 grandchildren; Mary Jane, Drew, and Noelle Clutterbuck, Sam and Lila Rabbitt, Zoe and Charlie Rabbitt. He is also survived by his brother, Kevin (Lee) Rabbitt; his sister-in-law, Susan Bertin; his brother-in-law, James Murphy; and nieces and nephews.
Brian thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially being a part of his grandchildren’s lives. He also looked forward to his golf outings with his closest friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, located at 145 East Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church, located at 346 East Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
