Carmella Marie Stefanelli

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Carmella Marie Grasso Stefanelli who left this world peacefully in her own home on February 28, 2026. Carmella lived a life defined by family, friends, and her career. She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and a steady source of comfort and wisdom to all who knew her.

She was graduated from Bloomfield High School and received her teaching degree from Montclair State University. Carmella dedicated her life to her career as a teacher, respected by her colleagues, and beloved by her students.

Yet beyond her career, it was her family that meant the most. Although she traveled the world extensively, she most enjoyed summers in Lavallette surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children Eugene (Francine), Donna Stack (Jay), Michael (Paul Mundhenk), Marc (Michelle), seven beautiful grandchildren Callan Stack, Carson Stack, Marissa Buscemi, Claire Suckow, Michael, Francesca and Marc Stefanelli. And two great-grandchildren, Thea and Anna Stack.

She was preceded in death by her adoring husband Eugene Stefanelli and her loving parents, Luigi and Gaetana Grasso.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 6th at 10am at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 386 S. Livingston Avenue Livingston.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the long loving life Carmella lived. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
