Domenica rella Scagliozzi

Domenica “Minnie” Scagliozzi, 82, of West Orange, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wayne on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

At her request, there will be no viewing. The Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be offered Saturday at St. John’s Church, 94 Ridge St., Orange at 10AM where she sang in the choir for many years. The committal service will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Minnie Rella was born in Orange and grew up in West Orange where she met the love of her life, Charles N. Scagliozzi. They were married 59 year before his passing in 2008. For over 40 of those years, she cared for him while he had MS.

Minnie was the devoted mother of seven children and lived her life to make theirs the best that it could be. She was happiest when surrounded by her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her motto, “Love you more, love you better” will be remembered by them throughout their lives. Her sons: Charles III and Michael predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children: Charles IV (Rosemary), Susan Ambio (Edward), James, Daniel (Mary Ann) and Leo. Her devoted grandchildren: Jessica, Jennifer, Nicole, Stephanie, Nicholas and Charly; her beloved great-grandchildren: Mikeyla, Stephen and Ariana. She is also survived by her sisters: Angie Bowman and Marie DeHart, along with many family and friends. To all whose lives she touched, know that you touched her life as well-she loved you all.
