Geraldine D. Guida, age 95, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of West Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 25, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Church 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Thursday August 29, 2013 at 10AM. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Wednesday August 28, 2013 from 6-9 PM. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park Union, NJ. Geraldine was born to the late Silvio and Angelina DeVita and raised in Newark. She was a graduate of Newark State Teacher’s College. She was employed by the Union Township Board of Education and taught first grade for many years at Livingston Elementary School before her retirement in 1985. Beloved wife for 47 years to Philip S. Guida, loving aunt of Judith DeCheser, Silvio DeVita, Joseph Cordasco , Angela Tango, Frank and his brother Silvio DeVita and Rita Praca, dear great-aunt of Christopher Pastena, Danielle Genovese and Denise, Vicki and Inez DeVita. Great great aunt of Gabriella, Anthony, Christopher, Jr., Austin and Vienna. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O.
