Henry "Yeprem" Katchikian

Henry Katchikian age 88, of Bayside, Queens, NY, passed away on Wednesday December 8, 2021. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Mary Armenian Church, 200 W. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 200 W. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039. An interment will occur Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936.

Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Karen (Kenarik) Katchikian and was a devoted father of Andre (Lorrie) and Allen (Nichole). He was a loving grandfather of Arin, Bryan, Emma and Steven and the brother of Virginia Hacopian, and the late Alex Katchikian, Aram Katchikian, Simon Katchikian, Yvette Keshishian and Tamar.

Henry was enjoying his retirement. Previously, his profession was as a jewelry designer and in his earlier years he worked for the United States Air Force in Tehran.

His family and friends knew him as a kind and mild-mannered man. He was a true family man and friend, with a passion for life. His interests and talents included his artistic drawings, playing backgammon, traveling, learning new languages and spending time with loved ones. Henry was a very social man, never missing a gathering with family and friends. His virtue of one’s dignity was often emphasized to his sons as one of the most valuable traits that a man can have. He appreciated the absolute love and care that his wife Karen gave him during the last years of his life.

Henry was deeply loved and will be missed by many. He will stay in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church.
