Joseph Scavuzzo, 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. His family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Saturday beginning at 9 AM followed by the Blessing Service at the funeral home at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside.
Born in Newark he lived in Newark and in Short Hills the last 20 years. He graduated from Arts High, Newark and attended Pratt Institute. During World War II, he was a bombardier instructor achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. After the war, he was an architect with Prudential Insurance, Con-Edison and Honeywell.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Katherine Hill and five siblings, he is survived by his brothers, Peter and Philip Scavuzzo.
