

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Ken played for the Johnstown Johnnies (farm team of the Brooklyn Dodgers) and proudly served as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. After leaving Brooklyn, he married his wife Ann and they raised their family in Plainfield, NJ. He proudly worked for Dreier's Sporting Goods, New York 7-Up, Sir Speedy and bartended at Club 79, The Park Inn, Bridge Tavern and Top Shelf.
Ken, fondly known to his family as Poppy, was a hard worker who loved treating his family to a good meal, spending time with his grandchildren, enjoying a Heineken with his friends, the NY Yankees, watching sports and vacationing with his beloved wife and family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann, of many years, his step son Michael DeSiena and his brothers Jack and Don Richards. He is survived by his daughter Michelle DeSiena, her partner Darryl, his grandchildren Alexandra, Timothy, and Carina and great grandson and namesake Kenneth Matthew. He is also survived by his daughter Karen Tufaro, her husband Mark and his granddaughters, Markie and Romie, his stepson Rick DeSiena, wife Kathy and granddaughter Jill, great grandsons Nicholas and Daniel, and his stepson Bob, wife Barbara and grandchildren Liz and Ace. He is also survived by his two step brothers, Harry and Bill Pierson and many family and friends.
