Margaret H. Macmillan

Margaret “Peggy” Macmillan, age 94, of Livingston, NJ, passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held in the St. Giles Chapel at Restland Memorial Park 77 Deforest Avenue East Hanover, NJ, on Monday April 22, 2013 at 11 AM. The interment will follow at the cemetery. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Sunday April 21, from 2-6 PM. Born in Newark, NJ, to the late Malcolm and Margaret MacKeith Macmillan. After her graduation from Weequahic High School in Newark, she began a long career with NJ Bell Telephone, where she worked till her retirement in 1982 as a manager in the payroll department. In 2010, Margaret had the honor of being the first woman admitted to the membership of the St. Andrew’s Society of the State of New York. Sister of the late Agnes M. and Graham G. Macmillan, aunt of Isobel Anderson-Dagon Macmillan and the late Graham and Scott Macmillan, great-aunt of Loryn, John and Shawn Dagon, Colyn Camp, Graham, Scott and Steven Macmillan, she is also survived by 15 great-great nieces and nephews and her friend and caregiver Irma Avlakhashvili. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church of Our Savior 542 N. 7th Street Newark, NJ 07107.
