Mary Elizabeth Gillespie “Maureen”, age 73, of Livingston, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 28, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philomena Church 396 South Livingston Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Thursday September 4, 2014 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery E. Hanover, NJ. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ on Wednesday September 3, 2014 from 4-8PM. Maureen was a teacher in the Newark School System for 35 years before her retirement in 2006. She belonged to the Master Gardeners of Essex County and the Essex Bridge Center of Livingston, NJ. Beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Giblin Gillespie, dear sister of Joseph M. and his wife Christine Gillespie and Thomas J. and his wife Donna Gillespie. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 6725 Lyons St. P.O. Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
