

Alfreda M. McGuire, peacefully went to be with her Lord on November 12, 2013 in Loveland, CO. She was 100 years old. She was born in Mentor, Kansas on December 31, 1912 to Lena (Ebinger) and Peter Christian Thomsen. On May 11, 1943 she married Charles William McGuire in Watertown, N.Y.
Alfreda was a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing and caring for her family. Later in life she worked at Red Dale Coach Company as their upholstery and drapery seamstress. After retiring she continued doing alterations for customers and quilting. She was an original member of the Interfaith Quilters and Good Shepherd Auxiliary.
The family moved to Longmont in 1964 from Wichita, KS. She was a 42 year member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Longmont and a current member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Loveland.
Survivors include her daughter Maxine (Ed) Bunker of Berthoud, CO and her son Max (Mark Mindek) McGuire of New York City, NY. She is further survived by two grandsons Vance and Wade (Mary) Bunker, and 5 great grandchildren, Cassidy, Ethan, Levi and Hallie Bunker all of Berthoud, CO and Amber (Derek) Reisbeck and great great grandson Gunner of Avon, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents Peter and Lena, her brothers Harold and Carl and her sister Anne.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 3411 S. Taft Ave. Loveland, CO with Pastor Mark J. Nierman officiating. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont.
