Angelita Maria Moreno, 88, passed away on November 22, 2017, in Lafayette, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born on May 12, 1929, to Gabriel and Antonia Robles and raised in Denver, Colorado.
Angela married Rudy on December 18, 1948. Their marriage was defined by a deep, unbreakable love. This December would have marked their 69th anniversary of marriage. Angela’s favorite nickname for her husband was “Deen-Don”. All of the kids and grandchildren grinned when they heard her say that. They made their home in Frederick, where they soon started their big beautiful family of three sons, and five daughters. Angela loved her family so much and never stopped mourning the loss of her three children, Junior, Melody, and Theresa. Through all of the strife’s in her life, she continued to stand strong in her faith and guide her children and grandchildren.
Angela loved music and dancing, gardening, camping and picnics with her family. She also loved crafts and cooking. Her cooking was the best and in some way or another, all of her children and grandchildren carry on a tradition or a favorite dish that she made. She enjoyed watching Christian shows and movies with Rudy. In her later years you could find her sitting outside on the front patio with Rudy watching the grandkids play in the yard or just enjoying the soft summer evenings. She was always amongst family.
The relationships that Angela made were very important to her. She was always asking how those she knew were doing. Always concerned and praying for them if something was not going well for them. Her door was always open to anyone to stop and say hello, or ask for help. Summer Vacation was at Grandma’s house, she never said “no”. Many grandchildren spent their summers running in and out of the front door, running around the yard playing tag, and camping in the front yard.
Angela will always be loved and will be missed by many people. She spent nine years receiving dialysis treatment. We extend our appreciation and gratitude to this special group of people at DaVita who became her family over the years. She was many times late to her appointments at DaVita because she was saying “hello” and “fist bumping” the staff in the halls. Her strength is admirable. They really loved her and treated her like a Queen. We are thankful for and she was blessed with their compassion, kindness and encouragement.
Angela was a proud woman of God and we are so thankful that she passed this down to everyone in her family. For many of us she was the seed that was planted in our hearts. We have fought, survived and won many battles because of this seed. There are countless times that a van packed full of children, grandchildren and friends would head to church to be filled with the knowledge and love of God she was always talking about. We will never forget that. She would always tell us “Go to church, give your life to God, pray”, and we will always call on those loving words. She shared her wisdom of God with those around her and with anyone who would listen. The message she always carried with her and left with everyone was to “Trust in the Lord”.
Angela was a loving and beautiful daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, grandmother and auntie. She was loved by everyone who knew her and touched everyone around her. Her greatest joys in life were serving the Lord and her family. She will be remembered as a beautiful soul that was kind, loving, genuine, and quick to the point. She was a faithful servant of God and her strength was shatterproof.
Angela is survived by her husband Rudy: five children; David (Shirley) Moreno, Marina (Carl) Ross, Monte (Brenda) Moreno, Monalisa (Jim) Nelson, Rebecca (Johnny) Rivera, Cherese Moreno; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren (plus two on the way); and 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers Pete and Ruben, and sisters Esther, Mary and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, and 12 brothers and sisters.
A Viewing will be held at Howe Mortuary on November 30, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm A Funeral Service for Angela will be held on December 1, 2017, 11:00am, at Rocky Mountain Church, 9447 Niwot Rd, Niwot, Colorado 80503. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
