Barbara A. Collier, 73, of Longmont, died October 1, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born January 16, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Theresa (Prince) and John Hrabowski. She was a graduate of Birmingham High School, and married Ellis Collier in 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. They moved from Chicago to Boulder in 1973 and then on to Longmont, also in 1973.
Barbara managed a dry cleaning business in Chicago prior to working for Safeway in the produce department. In her free time Barbara enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother Darrell Hrabowski.
Surviving are her son Kenneth Collier of Longmont, CO; her daughter Terri Bernal of Pueblo, CO; her sisters Carolyn (Joe) Norris of Ohio and Belinda Hrabowski of Alabama. She is further survived by her loving granddaughters Ashley (Josh) Baessler and Natalie Collier.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. Cremation will follow.
