Benny Ray Scearce

Benny Scearce passed away September 22, 2017 at his home in Longmont, CO. He was 67 years old. Benny was born On August 31, 1950 in Danville, VA to Richard and Virginia (Walton) Scearce. He graduated from High School in Danville and went into electrical work at an early age. In 1976 he moved to Longmont from Kansas. He join the U.S. Army and was a part of the 82nd Airborne Division. Twenty six years ago he married Laurie Ledford. Benny was an electrician his entire life and the proud owner of Ben's Electric. He belonged to the American Legion, VFW and the Moose Lodge. Benny enjoyed fishing, hunting and Harley's; no one was ever a stranger. He was a kind and loving man; who helped many people throughout his life. Benny was preceded in death by his father Richard; his brother Delvis and his sister Wanda Crumpton. He is survived by his wife Laurie, his mother Virginia; his brother William (Denise) sisters Frances (Kenny), Ann (Ed), Emma (George), Judi (Daryl) and Tammy (Bernie); his daughter Michelle Dhart. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday October 13, 2017 at the Moose Lodge in Longmont. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
