

She was born on January 9, 1934 to parents, Thomas and Myrtle Kitchen in Provo, Utah. She was the youngest of 7 children, three brothers and 4 sisters, and was proceeded in death by all of her siblings except a brother, Larry Kitchen, who resides in Orem, Utah.
She learned her hard work habits from her parents who also taught her to love the Lord. She embraced the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ and during her life she showed great service to family, friends, and strangers alike. Her willingness to serve at any capacity led her to many church callings which she completed with full commitment. Her latest calling in the church was team teaching with her husband, Lloyd, the five and six-year-old children in Primary.
In 1954 while attending Brigham Young University for a degree in textiles, she was introduced and later married D. Benson Long. The two were married in 1955 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. The newlyweds made their home in the Provo, Utah area where all five of their children were born.
Beverly and her family moved to Longmont, Colorado and in 1973 they built their current home just outside Lyons, Colorado . She refined her many talents with her family and friends. Some of these talents included homemaker, gardener, canning, arts and crafts, woodworking, painting, seamstress, and pianist and organist. She was an extremely talented person and was exceptional at everything she attempted. She was fearless to tackle any project and could do anything she set her mind to.
Beverly was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a faithful follower her entire life. Her faith and prayers helped sustain her through all times especially her difficult times. She served a successful 18-month mission with her husband, Ben Long, in Honduras and Belize. Later they continued their service as they traveled to China to teach English to young college students in the city of Xian. She loved the humble Chinese people and spoke highly of them.
Beverly loved to cook and whipped up many wonderful meals and desserts to provide for her family and friends. Many of her recipes are treasured and sought out by her children and grandchildren. She made many quilts and gave hand-crafted gifts on birthdays and Christmas. In addition to her family, friends were an important part of her life.
In October 2000 after 45 years of marriage Beverly's husband, Ben, passed away. In 2003, she married Al Morris who was also widowed. Al Morris provided her love and happiness until his death in 2005. Although she never thought she would marry again, Beverly met a gentle, kind man named Lloyd Brady. She was fortunate to have found such a beautiful, supportive, and loyal companion to have until her death.
Beverly's faith, hope, and prayers comforted her as she approached death. She often stated that she was not afraid of dying. She was a great inspiration to her family and showed through her example that life should be full of faith and helping others. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Brady and her five children: Leann Paul, husband Gardell of Providence, Utah, Kyle Long and wife Yanesia of Iliff, Colorado, David Long and wife Rhonda of Lyons, Colorado, Jeffrey Long and wife Raylene of Salem, Utah, and JaNae Maxwell & husband, Jack of Sterling, Colorado. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Howe Mortuary in Longmont and 9am until 10am, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 2nd Avenue, Lyons. The funeral service will follow at 10am, also at the church. Interment will take place in the Lyons Cemetery.
