Billy A. Upchurch

Billy Upchurch 84, passed away at Applewood Living Center on February 3, 2012.Born to David A. & Rachel (Dabney) Upchurch in Ft. Sill, OK. Billy served in Europe in 1944 - 1945 in the Army and was honorably discharged.He lived most of his life in OK, moving to several states to work but always returning to the place he loved. While living in Colorado he worked for Country View Care Center and Marathon Oil.In his later years he moved to Longmont, CO. to be close to family and made his home with his son and daughter-in-law Dave and Sue Upchurch.He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Betty (Brown).Survivors include his sons, Dave (Sue), Chris (Patty) of Longmont, CO. and Steve (Janet) of Laramie, WY.Six Grandchildren Poppy (Nate) Bush, Brittney Upchurch, Michael Upchurch, Stephanie Upchurch, Makelle Upchurch, and Brennen Upchurch. Five Great-Grandchildren. Step Daughter Denise Fitzpatrick of Denver, and Sister Marie Strickland of Texas, and several nieces and cousins.Billy loved to fish and taught his sons and grandchildren to love it also, he spent many hours fishing with them.The family will host a memorial luncheon at the Moose Lodge 2200 Pratt St. Longmont, CO on Saturday February 11, 2012 from 2 “ 4 PM. Ahlberg Funeral Chapel is handling the cremation. The family will have a private service at a later date.
