Blair Lee Swenson

Blair Lee Swenson, 54, passed away on Monday, May 25th, 2009, at his home in Longmont, Colorado after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. His family was with him at the time of his passing; he listened to stories and laughter on Sunday with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.Blair was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on August 2nd, 1954 to Lee and Helen (McAllister) Swenson. He was a loving son, wonderful husband, and perfect father. Blair had commented that he wished for more time to do things with his wife and family.Blair is survived by his parents, Lee and Helen Swenson; his wife, Laurie; son, Jacoby and his wife, Ashleigh, and grandson, Beau; daughter, Skyler and her friend, Sean; siblings, Reneé, her husband Monte, Michael and his wife, Dana; son-in-law, Sean Parker and his wife, Kelly; his brother-in-law, Randy Backus and wife Cindy, and daughter Amanda, his sister-in-law Lynn (Cloud) Backus; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was an instant friend to all he met.Blair was a hard worker and a fair and kind boss. He owned Valley Heating and Air Conditioning in Brighton, Colorado for 15 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. Along with his parents, Blair and Laurie attended the Church of the Nazarene in Longmont, Colorado. A viewing will be held at Howe Mortuary on Friday, May 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, May 30th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Longmont Church of the Nazarene, 2111 Mountain View Ave, Longmont, Colorado.There will be a private interment at Highland Lake Pioneer Cemetery at a later date. Blair will be buried next to his brother, Mark.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 1855 Plaza Drive, Louisville, Colorado, 80027, or a charity of your choice.
