Robert was born January 30, 1947 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in the town of Attleboro, Massachusetts to Joseph Leo and Marie Jeanne (Laporte) Letendre. He had one sister, Claire. Bob grew up and finished school on the East Coast. He proudly served in the United States Army, after which he relocated to Colorado.
In the early 1970s, Bob spent a few years living in a Teepee on Saint Mary’s Glacier, near Idaho Springs, Colorado. When he had had enough of the cold, he settled in Berthoud, where he resided until the time of his passing. He spent several years working as a long haul truck driver and finished out his working life as a carpenter in residential construction. Bob was a man of romance and was married three times, though it never did stick.
Bob was a quiet and friendly man who never caused any trouble. He was well liked and never met an enemy. He was mild humored and generally happy in life. He loved the Colorado outdoors. In addition to his time spent on the glacier, Bob was known to do some mountain climbing. He was also a talented woodworker. Most of all, he was a good man and a good friend. He will be missed.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. He is survived by his best friends, Jeff Acord and Harold Rhodes. No services will be held for Bob at this time. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Longmont. Memories and condolences are welcome at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
