Brian and I went to school together, along with Jeff F. and others.

RIP my friend.

This man, was like a father to me. He was a gift to my mom and I. I didn't have a father before Brian, because he abandoned me. I used to be afraid of the thought of my mom having a man, because I didn't want to share. But the moment Brian walked in the door for the first time(1999), holding a out a pink rose for me (pink was my favorite color), I felt an instant connection with him and it was love at first sight.  I felt like I had known him all my life. He was so sweet, kind, and compassionate. I felt safe.
 He lived with us, and after 4 years of being together,my mom married him.I wanted my last name to be Ernst too. I even tried changing it at school. I told my teachers to change my name to Ernst. (I was only 9 haha). I wanted everyone to know he was my dad. He wanted to adopt me.He'd take me to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Harveys house for Christmastime family bonding. I really enjoyed being with his family, who was very welcoming. It was a big family, aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone. It meant a lot to me, I went from having no family to a big, loving family. He blessed me with a big sister, something I always wanted, and I met my cousin Malanie who I became close to, and I got to grow up with. I always wanted a close sister or cousin. Brian gave all of that to me and more. He blessed me with an amazing family. I will always love them. My mom and Brian divorced when I was 15, which was the hardest time of my life, but I always loved him and his family and still do. 
 I really became close to him at the start, watching Spiderman and Batman cartoons together, playing dress up, playing with his action figures and he'd even play with my barbies with me... he would make me laugh, hold me when I cried, carry me to bed when I fell asleep in his arms...he was the dad I needed, the dad I always wanted. I even called him daddy. He was the kind of dad whod be cleaning his gun (if he had one)when my boyfriend came over. He was very protective.
 Brian and I were in sync. He'd take me to work with him when he could, he would take me to see super hero movies in the theater we would go everywhere together. When he decided to act in the theatre business,  I went with him and supported him. He encouraged me to act. There is sooo so many things I can say about him, so many memories.  It would take days to write it all down. But he meant the world to me, and I will miss him greatly.

Brian was a caring and talented man who never ceased to amaze when he was serious about any kind of production,whether it be music,theater or just DJing for a radio station. We will all miss those talents along with your smile,I will be lucky enough to see you when I look in our daughters eyes. Rest in Peace Bri and may you spend eternity making beautiful music in Heaven. Love Terri

Brian's passing shocked me. I knew him from work and hadn't seen or heard of him in years. But I was hoping to be able to enjoy more of his musical and acting gifts. I am sad.

My heart aches for all of Brian's family & friends. May the Lord surround you with the Peace that only He can provide. Know my thoughts are with you. With understanding and sympathy.  Anetta

To Brian's family: I find it hard to express how saddened I am by Brian's passing. He was a wonderful, creative, kind, outgoing man. He will be very missed.

To Brian's family, there are not enough words to ease the pain at this time.  I can only say that I am praying for you all during this very difficult time.  I don't have one childhood memory that Brian was not a part of.  He was a kind and gentle soul and I will miss him.  Love to you all.
