Cathy Wagner Ross

Cathy was one of two children born to John and Leota. As a child she grew up in upstate New York with her brother Gordon. In 1965 her family decided to move to Lafayette, Colorado from Wappingers Falls, New York. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1971 and from Colorado Mesa University in 1974. In 1976 she married her first husband, Merle Duerksen. After their divorce, Cathy met Donald Ross, whom she married in 1991. Don and Cathy were married for 31 years before her passing in 2023.

During Cathy’s life, she took pride in helping her community. For over 40 years she worked as a registered nurse and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Cathy also enjoyed the time she spent with her family - some of her favorite experiences included family camping trips, antique/ thrift store shopping, and playing cards.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents John and Leota, and is survived by her husband Donald Ross, her daughter Megan L. Duerksen Stewart, her brother Gordon, her grandchildren Shelby, Lynn, and Elizabeth, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins in both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

A celebration of life was held for Cathy Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont.
