

Chuck E. Reese of Longmont passed away on August 13, 2009. He was 77. He was born November 2, 1931 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Oscar and Helen (McCalmant) Reese.Chuck's parents moved the family from Oklahoma to Denver in 1938 where he graduated from East High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954 and returned to Denver to graduate from the University of Denver in 1957. Chuck worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Air Traffic Control from 1958 to his retirement in 1995.On November 12, 1955, Chuck married Sharron A. Haurum of Cedar Falls, Iowa. They had two daughters, Regan Waddle of Platteville, CO and Shannon Albrecht of Superior, CO. After living in Denver, Northglenn and Longmont, Chuck and family settled near Niwot, Colorado where Chuck resided until his passing.Chuck was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, golf and fishing as well as tending to his yard and beautiful rose garden. He enjoyed telling stories of his worldwide travels while in the Navy, along with teaching his daughters many things, such as fishing, photography, rock collecting and much more. He took his family on many vacations, his favorite places being in Colorado. He and Sharron traveled to many destinations around the world, where he took thousands of photos and slides to share with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family celebrations. His parents and a brother Douglas preceded him in death.Chuck is survived by his wife Sharron of Longmont, a brother James and sister Joyce Russell both of Westminister, CO; daughters Regan Waddle and Shannon Albrecht, their husbands Randy Waddle and Scott Albrecht and their children Carrie Waddle Gardner and husband Will Gardner, Zach Waddle and Taylor and Christopher Albrecht.Graveside services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009.
