

Charles A. Sears, age 72 of Longmont died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. Mr. Sears was born October 17, 1940 in Englewood, Colorado to Charles and Marie (Doolin) Sears. Charles graduated from high school and served in both the Army and Navy, having been a Green Beret and a Navy Seal. He received the Purple Heart. Charles was a lifetime resident of Colorado and worked as a pipe fitter. He was a member of the Pipe fitters Local 208. Charles married Joyce Yoder on February 10, 1967 in Littleton, Colorado.
Charles was a master woodworker, loved to golf, hunt and fish and spending time with his family. He particularly loved his grandchildren. He was a member of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of Longmont, two sons, Larry Sears and his wife Donna of Broomfield, Wade Sears and his wife Suzanne of Las Vegas, Nevada, one daughter, Starlene Williams and her husband Mark of Broomfield, his grandchildren, Travis and Kacey Sears of Broomfield, Zach and Jake Williams of Broomfield and Nolan and Enya Sears of Las Vegas. One brother, Aaron Sears and his wife Helen of Sterling, Colorado also survives. His parents preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. A reception in the Howe Mortuary Event Center will take place following the service.
